![]() Reading about it constantly made me smile. I loved how Harriet Muncaster describes the ghost, the castle itself and how much fun it is to go on a school trip there. Isadora meets a ghost at the castle, just like she hoped, but not everyone thinks ghosts are friendly and fascinating creatures. She's unique, but so are they and they like each other because of who they are, which is something I absolutely loved about this story. Isadora is kindhearted and loves spending time with her classmates. Isadora Moon Goes on a School Trip is a charming story about a half vampire half fairy girl and a haunted castle. Isadora and her father love ghosts, but do Isadora's classmates like them as well? What will the school trip be like, is it going to be filled with fun, laughter and games or are there going to be spooks that will scare everyone else? Isadora's father immediately offers his services, he loves helping out and maybe the castle will have ghosts. ![]() Isadora Moon and her classmates go on a school trip to a castle. the children learn that the ghost is kind and friendly, and are sorry they thought he would be bad just because of the scary ghost stories they’d heard about. The message of not judging someone by appearances or tales, but taking them as an individual, is important. Isadora’s father is sympathetic to the ghost, who is really just very sad and lonely, and with Isadora’s help, they devise a way for the ghost to interact with the children without scaring them. Her human classmates are freaked out by this idea and, when there really IS a ghost in the castle, they are terrified and run away. When Isadora’s class goes on a field trip to a castle, her vampire father hopes that it will be haunted. there are definitely some elements that fit well for this season.) (The books are not centered around Halloween and could be read any time of year, but since Isadora's father is a vampire and they live in a castle, etc. I've read the series out-of-order but hope to get to the rest of them in the next few weeks as they are perfect for someone like me who loves a bit of Halloween fun without the scary-factor. The stories are well-written, the characters all feel well-drawn. ![]() The illustrations are full of the most darling details that always make me smile. I adore these Isadora Moon books! They are so charming and fun.
